Our small urban nursery supplies an ever-changing range of plants suited to the mild maritime climate of Dunedin. We propagate plants that are proven to be productive here at George Street Orchard. We also sell plants that grow well in Dunedin now, but may be more fruitful in the changing climate developing. An important aspect of our work is identifying and trialing crops that are peripheral to our climate zone in anticipation of change.
We can propagate to order. See our list of plants we use at GSO for inspiration, and contact us for a request.
All plants are grown with certified organic Dalton’s potting mix and sometimes homemade organic potting mix. Rainwater is used as much as possible for irrigation.
